Sir John Houghton was Chair of the Nobel Prize winning Scientific Assessment Group for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He is a former Professor in Atmospheric Physics at the University of Oxford and Director General of the UK Meteorological Office.
Sir John’s esteemed career in industry and academia is varied and includes working with NASA and serving as Chair of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution. He is author of Global Warming: The Complete Briefing, the definitive textbook on the subject.
Sir Richard Feachem is Professor of Global Health at the University of California, San Francisco and the University of California, Berkeley. He is Director of the Global Health Group at UCSF Global Health Sciences.
Sir Richard has worked in international health and development for 40 years including as founding Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and as Under Secretary General of the United Nations. Sir Richard was previously the Dean of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and the Director of Health, Nutrition and Policy at the World Bank.
Paul Stanford held various senior Technical, Supply Chain and Innovation roles with The Coca-Cola Company over 37 years. Paul’s extensive career in The Global Coca-Cola System involved assignments in Europe, United States and The Far East.
Paul has held a range of responsibilities at a senior level including: Mergers and acquisitions, technical and operational due diligence, Post acquisition integration, Management of contract manufacturing networks, and Technical management (Quality, regulatory, product & package commercialisation).
Gwyn Morgan has worked in academia and industry specialising in pathology, toxicology and risk assessment. Recipient of a WHO postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University, he joined SmithKline Beecham in the USA rising to Vice President and Worldwide Director of Drug Safety Assessment. He was engaged in drug discovery and development at a senior level for 25 years prior to his retirement.
He headed an international collaboration on genomics under the auspices of the International Life Sciences Institute, Washington DC. He also served as a scientific advisor to a forum of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
Alun Cole is a senior lawyer, specializing in commercial and public law. He has been a senior partner of Eversheds LLP, a leading UK and international law firm, and is retained by the firm for his specialist expertise. In a private capacity, Alun has assisted a number of major business ventures in the UK and overseas.
After studying law at the London School of Economics, Alun joined the UK Government Legal Service; advising Ministers; drafting Parliamentary legislation; and representing the Government at the European Commission and Court of Human Rights, the European Court of Justice, and at UN negotiations.
