Sure Chill’s £4m raise has won Venture Capital Deal of the Year 2019 at Insider’s Wales Dealmakers Awards. The event, held in Cardiff on the 26th September celebrated Wales’ corporate finance firms, banks, funders, private equity houses and individuals that have excelled in dealmaking.

Earlier this year, Sure Chill which has developed cooling technology that doesn’t need constant power to work, raised £2m from The Garage Soho and a further £2m from Africa-focused capital manager, Novastar Ventures. The deal, led by Acuity Law, has provided investment to accelerate the development of other applications for the patented technology and catapult the company to the next level; attracting more top talent as well as expanding its operations with new offices overseas.

After proving the success of its technology through vaccine refrigeration in both on- and off-grid locations, Sure Chill has received increasing interest from some of the world’s largest brands looking to make use of its unique cooling technology in other major commercial sectors.

CEO Nigel Saunders said,

“This award underpins the decision we made to welcome two significant investors to join our ever-growing story. Both bring a particular skillset and experience to the company which is complementary. The funds will ensure we take the business to the next phase by successfully entering new markets and making Sure Chill a global brand.”
