Medical refrigeration
Perfect cooling where it's needed most — in the safe storage of essential medical supplies.
Essential cooling
Conventional refrigeration systems aren't infallible. The cooling can be uneven. Certain areas within the refrigeration compartment are cooler and products will freeze. Other areas are warmer and products may spoil. Then there's the simple but common problem of power outages. When a conventional refrigerator loses power it simply stops working. Cooling is quickly lost. Life-saving products are compromised.
In the home or business, a compromised product is an inconvenience at best. At worst, a lost sale and a damaged reputation. In the medical field a compromised product is a medicine without potency. A vaccine that doesn't work. A life potentially lost.
Convention defying
Sure Chill works in an entirely different way from conventional refrigeration so it entirely avoids the usual problems. The temperature within a Sure Chill powered refrigerator when stabilized can only ever be a perfect 4°C. There is no difference then in temperature from one shelf to the next. Every product is perfectly cool. No freezing. No spoiling.
Sure Chill doesn't rely on mains electricity so loss or lack of power is simply not a problem. It goes on protecting vital medical supplies when other refrigerators would, and do, fail.
This lack of reliance on mains power has another significant benefit in the medical field. Storage of life-saving vaccinations and medical supplies in remote areas where power is unreliable or non existent is now possible. Communities that are hard to reach are no longer impossible to treat.
Life saving
Sure Chill technology has incredible potential to improve the lives of people globally, particularly in poorer communities. Potential that it's already fulfilling. World Health Organisation tested and approved medical refrigerators using Sure Chill technology are already helping to save lives in some of the most difficult environments on earth. The refrigerator’s ability to safely store essential medical supplies is proving to be vital in the successful delivery of vaccination programmes.
Supported by the Gates Foundation
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has long-supported child vaccination programmes in the world’s poorest countries, including a pledge to help eradicate polio during the ‘Decade of Vaccines’. The foundation recognises the importance of storing life-saving vaccines safely and has chosen to award $100,000 to advance the development of revolutionary new vaccine coolers using Sure Chill technology. These coolers have the potential to be mass produced, enabling low cost access to life-saving medicines in tens of thousands of rural health centres around the world. With the support of the Foundation and our innovation, millions more children could be saved from deadly and preventable childhood diseases.
